About Generation of Change:
Generation of Change (G.O.C) is a mentorship and training program designed to gather youth ages 12-17 together to network and find workable solutions for the various challenges they may be facing in their everyday lives.
Purpose:
Topics:
- Peer Pressure
- Gangs
- School
- Sex
- Additional topics of the group's choice
Leaders:
- 2-3 Adult Men Mentors
- 2-3 Adult Women Mentors
Activities:
- Discussions
- Hands-on Activities (Role-playing, Board Games, etc.)
- Social Outings
- Educational/Recreational Trips
- Special Celebrity Guest Appearances (Discussions)
To provide the right educational resources and care to ensure that our youth live well-balanced, holistically healthy lives (mentally, physically, socially, economically and emotionally).
Goal:
To equip our youth with the necessary tools and information to deal with different societal issues and experiences that may arise, through hands-on, interactive activities.
Order of Event:
Day: Fridays (1st & 2nd Friday of each month to start)
Time: 7pm-8pm*
*Half hour of private discussion with the Boys in one area and the Girls in another area, then a half hour of general discussion.
